Refund Policy
All requests for cancellation must be submitted in writing to Graduate and International Programs. Tuition payments other than the $600 non-refundable program fee will be returned if the cancellation is made by the program’s refund deadline. Requests for partial refunds after the deadline will only be considered in cases of a significant medical and/or family emergency. These hardship requests must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation to the Director of Graduate and International Programs. Cases in which the student fails to secure entry into the country where the program is conducted or the student desires to pursue employment or any other activity will not constitute hardship.
Program Changes
The law school reserves the right to make changes to the program. Should any significant changes to the program occur, students will be advised of the changes and given the option to withdraw with a full refund.
Travel Warnings and Alerts
In the unlikely event that the U.S. State Department issues a Travel Warning or Alert covering the destination and dates of the program, the following refund policy will apply:
- If the warning or alert is issued prior to the commencement of or during the course of the program, students will be given the opportunity to withdraw from the program with a full refund of all tuition and fees.
Cancellation and Termination
The law school reserves the right to cancel or terminate the program for any reason. The decision to cancel or terminate the program is made in situations which are deemed necessary to protect the health and safety of students, faculty and staff and/or to ensure the integrity of the program. In the event that the program is canceled or terminated, Graduate and International Programs will assist applicants in finding a similar program. To date, there have been no cancellations of a USD School of Law study abroad program. In the event that the program is canceled or terminated, the following refund policy will apply:
- If the program is canceled prior to the commencement of the program, students will be notified immediately and issued a full refund of all tuition and fees; or
- If the program is terminated during the course of the program, students will be notified immediately, withdrawn from the program and issued a full refund of all tuition and fees.
