Important Deadlines

Mon. Aug. 25: Fall semester classes begin.

Mon., Sept. 1: Labor Day Holiday.

Wed., Sept. 3 at 5 p.m.: Off-Campus Work Study applications due.

Fri., Sept. 5: Deadline to apply for a spring Semester Exchange Program.

Mon., Sept. 8: Last day to enroll in classes and to drop a class without a "W".

Mon., Sept. 8: Last day to receive 100% tuition refund.

Diversity Panel and Reception—Rethinking Balance: Work-Life Management in Law School and the Profession

4:00 p.m.; Degheri Alumni Center Boardroom.
The Academic Success Program (ASP) invites all students to this program to celebrate the diversity of our new law students and the USD law community. There will be an introduction by Tamera M. Weisser, Ph.D. (Partner, Jones Day). An alumni panel will offer their thoughts on how to effectively maintain a work-life balance as a law students and later as an attorney. The panel will be followed by a reception with the USD law community. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the diverse community at USD and network with each other, alumni, faculty, and administrators. Hosted by Jones Day. Office of Financial Aid: Off-Campus Work Study Applications Now Available

Fall 2014 Off-Campus Work Study applications are now available for pick up at the Office of Financial Aid. Applications are due on Wednesday, September 3 no later than 5 p.m. (no exceptions). Please contact Financial Aid if you have any questions.

USD Law Private Scholarship Application

Through the generosity of our alumni and friends, over 70 awards are available. All continuing JD students (2L, 3L, 4L) are eligible to apply. The application will be available online by Friday, August 29. Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 26. No late applications will be accepted. If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office by phone at (619) 260-4570, by email, or in person in Warren Hall room 203.

Fall 2014 Academic Success Fellows Needed

Academic Success Fellows are needed for the following: Civil Procedure (2 positions); Criminal Law (2 positions); and Torts (1 position). This is a paid position. Fellows serve as a valuable resource to USD law students, especially during their first year. Fellows are upper-division students who perform well academically and have an interest in helping current first-year students do the same. Fellows help student develop effective and efficient law school study skills and strategies. If you have questions or wish to apply, email Director of Academic Success Kiyana Kiel or stop by her office in Warren Hall room 206.

Center for Public Interest Law (CPIL): 2014-2015 Internships Available

Interested in studying state agencies that regulate business, professions and trades? Want to learn about the California legislative process and your future in public policy-making and public interest law? USD's renowned CPIL is accepting applications for the 2014-15 academic year. Please visit our website to learn about our academic program. Legal Clinics: Fall 2014 Opportunities Available

Interested in gaining real life experience with clients? The Legal Clinics are accepting applications for fall 2014 clinics. Spring Semester Exchange Programs: Application Due on September 5

Submit yourself as a nominee for a spring 2015 semester exchange program. Space in each program is limited. To be considered as a nominee for spring, please submit the online application form by September 5. Contact: Graduate and International Programs.

Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) Now Available Online

DARS is USD's online degree audit software tool for charting your progress towards your degree. To use DARS, log in to MySanDiego. Go to the "Law Student" page, then click the "Degree Audit Report System (DARS)/U.Achieve for students" link in the bottom right. We recommend that you utilize this valuable tool.

Motions Marketplace

Did you know you can buy and sell used books on the Motions Marketplace? You will need your USD email address to register for an account. Be sure to check your spam folder for the activation email.
