Student Bar Association (SBA): Grad Bash

8-11 p.m.; East Village Tavern and Bowl, 930 Market St. San Diego, CA 92101.
Let's send the Class of 2014 off in style! All students are invited to attend this year's Grad Bash. Tickets are $20 and include cover, appetizers, dancing, four graduate-level beverage tickets, a photographer, and bowling. Visit the Facebook event page for more information. Ticket pre-sale for graduating students begins Friday, May 2. All other students may purchase their tickets beginning Thursday, May 8 via PayPal. Contact: SBA President Erin Osmak.

Law Journal Write-On Competition: Packet Pick Up

Law School Graduation Mass

4-5 p.m.; Founders Chapel.
Celebrate the spiritual transition from law school to professional practice at the Law School Graduation Mass. This Mass is a beautiful way to celebrate your and your classmates' achievements, and to give thanks to those who have supported you along the way. All law students, along with their family friends, are invited to attend. Those of every religious tradition are most welcome and encouraged to attend. If you would like to volunteer at the mass, please contact Associate Minister Mary Kruer. Contact: Office for Law Student Affairs.

Lockers: Deadline to Request a Summer Locker

5 p.m.
If you are taking USD summer school or studying for the bar on campus, you may request a locker to use for the summer. To request a summer locker, please email the Office for Law Student Affairs by today, Friday, May 16 at 5 p.m.. In your email, please include your name, USD ID number, email address, and phone number. Contact: Office for Law Student Affairs.

Saturday, May 17

School of Law Commencement

9 a.m. (graduates must arrive by 8 a.m. for lineup); Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Join degree candidates, family, friends, faculty administrators and staff for the 2014 School of Law Commencement. Tickets are not required and all are welcome to attend. The ceremony will be webcast live and available for replay for a week after the ceremony. Congratulations to the Class of 2014! Contact:Office for Law Student Affairs.

School of Law Commencement Reception

Immediately following Commencement; Hahn University Center, Forums A, B and C.
Spend some time with your family, friends and fellow graduates at the School of Law Commencement Reception immediately following the commencement ceremony. A continental breakfast buffet will be provided. Contact: Office for Law Student Affairs.

Lockers: Deadline to Vacate

5 p.m..
At the end of each academic year, all of the lockers must be emptied. If you have a locker, please remove your lock and all of your belongings by today, Tuesday, May 20, at 5 p.m. Any items left in the lockers after May 20 will be collected and donated. Contact: Office for Law Student Affairs.

2014 Law Journal Write-On Competition Information

Packet Pick up: Friday, May 16; 10 a.m.; Legal Research Center Room 132.
Submission Drop off: Friday, May 23; 6:30-8 p.m.; Legal Research Center Room 132.

The 2014 Law Journal Write-On Competition starts Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. in LRC room 132. You must physically pick up your own Write-On packet and physically drop off your own Write-On submission in person unless excused before the competition. If you are unable to pick up or drop off your Write-On packet, you must email usdwriteon2014@gmail.com by Friday, May 14 at 9 p.m. In that email, you should explain the reason(s) you are unable to pick up or drop off your Write-On packet in person. Please add the "2014 Write-On Competition" course on TWEN. Doing so is the ONLY way the journals can contact you with information and updates about the competition. Membership on a law school journal is a tremendous honor and accomplishment that will follow you throughout your professional life. We hope you will participate in the Write-On competition for an opportunity to be a member of one of our USD law journals. Contact: 2014 Write-On Competition.

Student Leader Scholarship

Application Deadline: Friday, June 20, 2014 at 5 p.m.
In recognition of the work and sacrifice our student leaders make on behalf of the law school community, USD has set aside funds for a Student Leader Scholarship. Please read the application online for more information and to find out of you qualify. The application is due to the Office for Law Student Affairs by Friday, June 20, at 5 p.m. Contact: Office for Law Student Affairs.

Seth Garrett, '13, Swims for Suicide Prevention Awareness

USD law alumnus Seth Garrett is participating in this year's Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim on June 7 to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This is an issue close to Seth's heart and he hopes to raise $15,000 for this great cause. To read more about Seth's story and how you can donate, visit his personal campaign website.
