Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF): 16th Annual Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) Drive

11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Warren Hall The Writs.
PILF is holding its 16th Annual LRAP Drive this week. LRAP aids USD law graduates who are working in the public interest law sector pay off their student loan debt. Dean Ferruolo has pledged to match up to $15,000 in this year's campaign! The LRAP Drive will culminate on Thursday at the March Dean's Mixer with a Trivia Night. Teams of four can test their trivia knowledge and win fantastic prizes (including bar course discounts). The cost is $5 per person and all the proceeds go to LRAP. Sign up your team in The Writs all this week, or stop by the table to make a donation. Come play and make the dean pay. Contact: PILF Co-President Julie Hunter.

Monday, March 3

Student Bar Association (SBA): Budget Committee Meeting

12-12:50 p.m.; Warren Hall Room 133.
Registered student organizations can request funding from SBA. To request funding, fill out and submit a Budget Request Form from the SBA TWEN page, then sign up to present your request to the Budget Committee for discretionary funding. Contact: SBA Treasurer Erin Osmak.

YogaLaw Society: Free Yoga

1-2 p.m.; Warren Hall Room 315.
A fellow law student and certified yoga instructor will lead an hour-long power vinyasa flow. All law students are welcome, regardless of skill level. This is a safe space to explore yoga. Contact: YogaLaw Society President Rick Waltman.

Legal Research Center (LRC), Business Law Society (BLS), Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS): Hot Coffee Movie Screening

4-5:30 p.m.; Warren Hall Grace Courtroom.
Please join us for a unique film screening event. We will host a screening and discussion of Hot Coffee, a documentary film about the McDonald's coffee case. The film reveals what really happened and explores how and why the case garnered so much media attention. Personal injury attorneys and the film's director will be on hand to introduce and discuss the film. We will have coffee-based refreshments. Contact: Electronic Resources Librarian Anna Russell.

Careers In the Law

5:30-7:30 p.m.; Warren Hall Second Floor Foyer.
Attend the 32nd Annual Careers in the Law, the law school's largest and most important alumni-student networking event. More than 20 practice areas are represented. Co-sponsored by the Offices of Career and Professional Development and Alumni Relations, this is an excellent opportunity for you to mingle with USD alumni and learn about various legal careers. Hosted hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided. Contact: Career and Professional Development.

Interested in running for a SBA position for next year?  A role in SBA is a great way to gain leadership experience and have an impact on the student body. Korean American Bar Association of San Diego (KABA-SD): Spring Happy Hour

Dean Ferruolo's March Mixer

4-6 p.m.; Warren Hall Back Patio.
Dean Ferruolo invites you to the March Mixer. Come mingle with the dean, faculty, and students while enjoying a Mardi Gras-inspired feast. In conjunction with the Dean's Mixer will be a Trivia Night hosted by PILF and DivCom. See the entry directly below for more details. We hope to see you there! Outside Scholarship Opportunities: Apply Now!

There are currently a number of outside organizations sponsoring scholarships that range from $1,000 to $30,000. More information can be found on the Outside Scholarships web page. Additional scholarship opportunities may be added throughout the semester, so be sure to check back often.

Mock Trial Jurors Needed

Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2; 5-9:30 p.m.; Chula Vista Courthouse 500 3rd Ave. Chula Vista, CA 91910.
Trial Advocacy students will be conducting mock jury trials in early April at the Chula Vista Courthouse. This is a great opportunity to see a mock trial presented from start to finish, learn advocacy techniques, and participate in the process as a juror. To reserve a spot, please register online. If you have any questions, contact Assistant Director for Advocacy Programs Haley Shumaker.
