Main Entrance Construction Notice

All day.; USD Main Entrance.
Due to construction at the Main Entrance, expect delays entering and exiting campus. At least one ingress and egress lane will be open at all times, but please plan accordingly to accommodate delays. The West Entrance will not be affected. Construction is expected to be completed Thursday, May 9, but may continue Friday, May 10, if needed.

Student Bar Association (SBA): Grad Bash

7:30-10:30 p.m.; Bootlegger 804 Market St. San Diego, CA 92101.
Celebrate with the class of 2013 at this year's Grad Bash. All students are invited to attend. You may purchase your tickets online. Only 250 tickets are available, so buy your tickets today. Tickets are $25 and include your cover, three hours of open graduate-level beverages, appetizers, dancing, and a professional photographer. Additionally, $5 from each ticket sold will go toward the Graduating Class Gift: a contribution to the Professor C. Hugh Friedman Endowed Scholarship Fund. Saturday, May 18

School of Law Commencement

9 a.m. (graduates must arrive by 8 a.m. for lineup); Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Join degree candidates, family, friends, faculty, staff and administrators for the 2013 School of Law Commencement. Tickets are not required and all are welcome to attend. The ceremony will be webcast live and available for replay for a week after the ceremony. Congratulations to the Class of 2013! Contact: Office for JD Student Affairs.

School of Law Commencement Reception

Immediately following Commencement; Hahn University Center, Forums A, B, and C.
Spend some time with your family, friends and fellow graduates at the School of Law Commencement Reception immediately following the commencement ceremony. A continental breakfast buffet will be provided. Contact: Office for JD Student Affairs.

Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA)/Microsoft IP Law Institute: Apply Now

The HNBA/Microsoft Corporation IP Law Institute is a joint program designed to foster America's technological leadership by promoting diversity in the field of intellectual property. The institute selects up to 25 law students from law schools throughout the country to participate in this week long, all expenses paid, IP law immersion program held July 7-12 in Washington, D.C. Applications for the IP Law Institute will be accepted through May 15. More information and the online application are available online. Be a part of this inaugural program and apply today.

Center for Public Interest Law  (CPIL): 2013-2014 Internship Available

Interested in studying state agencies that regulate business, professions and trades? Want to learn about the California legislative process and your future in public policy-making and public interest law? Legal Research Database: Information for Graduates

Attention class of 2013: Did you know that you still have access to legal research databases after graduation? Graduates can use the following: Bloomberg Law for six months after graduation; Lexis Nexis until August 1; Westlaw basic access until May 31 (students may choose to extend their password through the bar exam to have access until July 31); and CEB for one year once you become a member of the California bar.

Save the Date: Initiative to Protect Student Veterans Reception

JD and LLM students and all military veterans are invited to attend a reception celebrating the launch of the Initiative to Protect Student Veterans. Remarks will be given by USD President Dr. Mary Lyons and San Diego Mayor Bob Filner. The event is free, but registration is required. USD Law Journals: 2013 Write-On Competition

Membership on a law school journal is a tremendous honor and accomplishment that will follow you throughout your professional life. Students can become members of the San Diego Law Review (SDLR), San Diego International Law Journal (SDILJ), or San Diego Journal of Climate & Energy Law (SDJCEL) by participating in the 2013 Write-On Competition, which will be held May 17-24. Law School Technology Services

Experiencing any technical difficulties with your computer? Having trouble accessing the USD wireless network? Or how about issues installing Softest for your exams? If you are experiencing any of these problems, or any other technical-related issues, please contact either Roger Stattel (Guadalupe Hall room 204; (619) 260-6842) or Don Poe (Warren Hall room 137; (619) 260-7924) to set up an appointment to address any technical difficulties you are currently dealing with.

Lockers: Important Information and Deadlines

If you currently have a locker, your deadline to vacate it is Tuesday, May 21. Any belongings left in the lockers after that date will be collected and donated. If you are studying for the bar exam on campus or taking summer school, you may request a summer locker to use. To request a summer locker, email the Office for JD Student Affairs by Friday, May 17. In your email, please include your name, USD email address, phone number, and USD ID number.
