With exams coming up, you may be tempted to stay up late to study and forgo sleep. But do not underestimate the importance of sleep! Sleep is your body's way of replenishing itself, and increases alertness, reduces stress, and bolsters memory...all of which contribute to your academic success on exams. Students who get seven to eight hours of sleep each night optimize cognitive function and test-taking ability, and are more likely to get a better GPA than those who replace sleep with studying.
