Janet Madden attended University of San Diego School of Law as a part-time student when her children were young. After a few years in practice, she returned to the law school in 1987, first working as a legal writing and research instructor, then developing and directing the Academic Support Program. In 2012 she moved to her current position as an academic services advisor, providing specialized counseling and support to law students, especially to law students with disabilities and to law students who plan to take a bar exam in a jurisdiction other than California. Before attending law school, Madden was a high school and junior high school English teacher; fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students then and in her years at the law school has been her continuing passion.
