Office of Career and Professional Development Launches #HireUSDLaw Career Management System

SAN DIEGO (July 6, 2017) – In June, the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) at University of San Diego School of Law transitioned to a new career management system called #HireUSDLaw.

The system–powered by 12Twenty–is modern, streamlined and easy to use. USD joins other leading law schools such as Boston College and George Washington University in the adoption of the new platform. Users will find #HireUSDLaw offers many innovative features to assist with career development, including an online job board where attorney, law clerk, externship, volunteer, and other opportunities are posted; a comprehensive resource library to guide career and professional development both during and after law school; and an Alumni Connections section that contains the Alumni Network Directory and regional alumni contacts.

The #HireUSDLaw system will enable students, recent graduates, seasoned alumni, recruiters and employers to interact more effectively and efficiently with the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD). Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development Molly Tami announced, “We are incredibly excited to introduce this new career management platform to the law school. It will be an excellent tool to facilitate the mission of our office in providing employment resources, counseling and data to our students, alumni and constituents in the legal community.” The advent of #HireUSDLaw is just one of the new initiatives being implemented to revitalize the OCPD.

The Office of Career and Professional Development is the primary point of contact for career guidance and preparation, recruiting and for semester-long and post-graduate employment. In addition to counseling, advisors assist in connecting employers with students through various recruiting programs and by promoting employer job opportunities throughout the year to students as well as alumni through the USD School of Law online job board.
