San Diego (April 17, 2012) - University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumni will be presented with service awards at the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) annual law week luncheon in May. James Dawe, '76 (JD), will be awarded the Outstanding Attorney of the Year award. Jessica Klarer Pride, '07 (JD), will be awarded the Outstanding Service by a New Lawyer award.
The Honorable David Gill, San Diego Superior Court will be awarded the Outstanding Jurist Award. Judge Gill is currently on USD School of Law's 2011-2012 Board of Visitors.
Each year, SDCBA recognizes distinguished individuals and organizations for their commitment to serving the San Diego community. The Outstanding Attorney of the Year award is given to exemplary attorneys who provide outstanding community service above and beyond just service to the legal profession. The Outstanding Service by a New Lawyer award is given for outstanding service by an attorney, who has demonstrated a significant commitment to serving the legal community via legal education, mentoring or community service efforts.
The 2012 SDCBA Service Awards will be presented at the SDCBA's Annual Law Week Luncheon and Celebration of Community Service, taking place at the Westin San Diego (Emerald Plaza) on May 1.
