San Diego (May 3, 2013) – Dean Stephen C. Ferruolo announced today that Sharmila (Mila) Sohoni and Dov Fox will join the University of San Diego (USD) School of Law faculty as assistant professors in August 2013.
Sohoni is currently an acting assistant professor of lawyering at New York University. Prior to law school, she received an MPhil in the history and philosophy of science from the University of Cambridge and was a science and technology correspondent for The Economist. She is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, clerked for the Honorable Judith W. Rogers of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and was an associate at Jenner & Block LLP in Washington DC. Her areas of teaching and research focus on civil procedure, administrative law and legislation. Sohoni has published articles in the Duke Law Review, Northwestern Law Review and Fordham Law Review.
Fox, currently an academic fellow at Georgetown University Law Center, lectures and publishes widely on legal topics in behavioral economics, biotechnology and health law, and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. He received his JD degree at Yale Law School and holds a DPhil in political theory from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar. Fox served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He was twice recognized for teaching excellence and was thrice awarded the Gruter Prize for the best paper in law and bioscience at Yale University. Fox will teach in the areas of bioethics and health law.
