All students are welcome to attend today's Telecommunications Law and Policy class. Today's class features Dean Brenner, senior vice president of Qualcomm's Government Affairs. Brenner represents Qualcomm before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and is one of the world's leading experts on law and regulation applicable to the use of wireless spectrum (the airwaves through which wireless telecommunications and broadcast television are transmitted). Spectrum regulation is one of the hottest and most important public policy issues today. Brenner will discuss the legal, economic, political and technological issues relevant to spectrum, and share some of his own observations about what it is like to practice law before an important administrative agency.
