Date and Time:
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Please join members of the University of San Diego School of Law community for an evening with George E. Barrett Professor of Law and Finance Frank Partnoy, who will be reading from his new book, Wait: The Art and Science of Delay (PublicAffairs, 2012) at Warwick's bookstore in La Jolla, Calif. this Wednesday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m.
In this provocative, entertaining book, Partnoy provides a necessary rebuttal to the gurus of “go with your gut.” He shows that decisions of all kinds, whether “snap” or long-term strategic, benefit from being made at the last possible moment.
National press coverage about the book has already appeared on show such as CBS This Morning, where Partnoy was interviewed by Charlie Rose, Erica Hill and Gayle King about the new book. Watch the interview online. In addition, a book review by a leading author and psychology researcher Christopher Chabris ran in The Wall Street Journal and the first major UK review also is in, a light-hearted one focused on procrastination from the Daily Mail. Two adapted excerpts have also appeared in the Financial Times on how watching tennis returns at Wimbledon can help us make better decisions, and the other in The Wall Street Journal on the pernicious effects of billing by the hour.
