Property and Transfer Taxes: presented by Larry Tannenbaum, Esq.
Mr. Tannenbaum will discuss common transfer tax and property tax issues that arise in a variety of acquisition and restructuring transactions. These issues include the change in ownership rules of the California Revenue and Taxation Code as applied to legal entities and the growing relationship between these rules and the documentary transfer tax provisions. Mr. Tannenbaum will also discuss rules in jurisdictions outside of California and how these become relevant in portfolio transactions.
Mr. Tannenbaum is a partner in the San Diego office of DLA Piper. Mr. Tannenbaum’s practice concentrates on transactional tax planning, including limited liability companies, partnerships, real estate matters, and closely-held corporations. Mr. Tannenbaum earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hasting College of Law, has been recognized as a San Diego Super Lawyer, and listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
