The Law Firm Challenge reconnects alumni to USD School of Law and promotes charitable giving to the law school. Law firms, companies and organizations with three or more alumni are encouraged to participate. The Challenge's success is dependent upon the dedication of volunteers at each firm who encourage colleagues to make donations to the law school, come to law school events, and to stay involved. Detailed information about the Challenge, participating firms and organizations, and how to get involved can be found online here.
Throughout the year law school staff work with each volunteer on a customized outreach program for their firm. Volunteers are asked to forward monthly update emails to their alumni colleagues throughout the fall and winter. From March 1 to May 31 the focus of the Challenge program shifts to fundraising and volunteers are asked to encourage their fellow alumni to support the law school. Although the fundraising period is a brief three months, all gifts received during the current fiscal year are included in the totals.
In addition to raising the profile of participating law firms and organizations and building a stronger alumni network, the Law Firm Challenge provides an opportunity for alumni to make a difference collectively to the school.
