Public Transportation

San Diego is a car-oriented town. However, the campus can be accessed by public transportation, and the San Diego Trolley in particular is a great way to get around to downtown San Diego, the ballpark, Fashion valley, and even Mexico! Get door to door directions with a trip planner.

If you want to use the local bus service, you need to take Bus Route 44 to our campus. Bus schedules differ but service the stop by our entrance every 15 to 20 minutes. For bus maps and timetables, please visit the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) website and check out their reduced student fare rates.

The San Diego Trolley runs every 15 minutes throughout most of the day and 30 minutes in the evening. The stop nearest our campus is the Morena/Linda Vista stop off the Blue Line. You can also exit at the Old Town station and catch a USD shuttle** to campus. For more information on the trolley, please view the San Diego Trolley schedule and information.

Another way to campus is via the Coaster, which runs 43 miles along the coast with station stops in downtown San Diego, Old Town, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, and Oceanside. You can transfer from the Coaster to a USD campus shuttle** at the Old Town station to reach campus. For more information on the coaster, please view the Coaster schedule and information.

**USD Campus Shuttles are equipped with bicycle racks.
