| Title | Darby Named Honorary Professor of the International Faculty of Comparative Law |

| Message | USD School of Law Emeritus Professor Joseph Darby was named an Honorary Professor of the International Faculty of Comparative Law on April 12, 2012. He was presented with the Diploma at a dinner honoring his forty years of service to the International Faculty of Comparative Law in Strasbourg, France. “We are thrilled and very proud to learn of this much-deserved honor for Professor Darby,” said Vice Dean Mary Jo Wiggins. “It affirms the International Faculty of Comparative Law’s respect for and appreciation of his excellent contributions over the last forty years to important discussions in international and comparative law.” The title of Honorary Professor was bestowed upon Darby by Jacque Robert, president of the International Association of Comparative Law, Dean Vlad Constantinesco and Vice Dean Thierr Rambaud of the University of Strausbourg in recognition of his long-term engagement with the International Faculty of Comparative Law and remarkable support of their teaching and research activities. Professor Darby is the author of numerous articles and teaches in the areas of comparative and international law. He has lectured by invitation at universities in Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Israel, Poland, Russia and South Africa. While teaching overseas, he is capable of lecturing in French, German and Russian.
