Prof. McAllister Appointed Visiting Scholar at UCSD Center for US-Mexican Studies

Prof. Lesley McAllisterProfessor Lesley K. McAllister was appointed as a Visiting Scholar at the Center for US-Mexican Studies at the University of California, San Diego. In this capacity, she has been writing about Mexican environmental law, and she will present her research in a public lecture on Wednesday, November 30.

Titled "Co-Regulation in Mexican Environmental Law," her lecture will discuss how Mexican environmental law has used novel regulatory approaches to overcome widespread noncompliance and other problems common to the implementation of environmental law in industrializing countries. Field work for the research was carried out in 2010 with a grant from the University of San Diego’s Trans-Border Institute (TBI).

Lesley K. McAllister writes and teaches in the areas of environmental and natural resources law, climate change and energy law, comparative and international law, and property law. She is a professor of law at the University of San Diego, and an adjunct associate professor at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies at the University of California, San Diego.
