USD Announces 2011 Distinguished Alumni and Rising Star Recent Alumni Awards

On Friday, November 4, 2011, USD School of Law and the Law Alumni Association Board of Directors will honor its 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients—Stephen P. Doyle, '84, president of Brookfield Homes San Diego and the Honorable J. Richard Haden (ret.), '74. In addition, the first Rising Star Recent Alumni Awards will be presented to Kristin E. Rizzo, '06, of the Rizzo Law Firm and Catherine L. Tran, '08, of the Democratic Caucus, U.S. House of Representatives.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to USD School of Law alum for excellence in the legal field or other chosen profession, and displaying the high ethical standards and commitment to community service that USD School of Law seeks to instill in its graduates. The Rising Star Recent Alumni Award is presented to alumni who have graduated within the past five years (2006–2010), have made significant achievements in the legal profession or chosen field, and have demonstrated a high level of community involvement.
