USD School of Law Wins Diversity Matters Award

San Diego (June 6, 2011) - The Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) has awarded the University of San Diego School of Law with second place Diversity Matters Award. The award, established by LSAC's Diversity Initiatives office, was developed to honor law schools that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and justice. LSAC encourages law schools to target high school students and first and second-year college students from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the legal field.

In 2010-11, USD School of Law sponsored programs that educated high school and early college students about the preparation for law school and the practice of law.

The 10 finalists (in alphabetical order) were:
