| Message | June 30, 2009 – USD School of Law Professor Miranda McGowan was interviewed by Chip Franklin on San Diego's KOGO-AM 600 about the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on Ricci v. DeStafano, a lawsuit brought against the city of New Haven, Conn. by 18 city firefighters alleging that the city discriminated against them with regard to promotions. Professor McGowan discusses the case and the decision's impact upon future discrimination cases. Also discussed in the interview are ramifications for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonja Sotomayor. Sotomayor was one of the three appeals court judges who ruled for the city in the unanimous decision in the lower court. |
