Young Tax Lawyers of the State Bar of California Tax Section - Choice of Entity

Professor Richard A. Shaw will present on choosing an appropriate business entity in light of management, capital structure and various tax and nontax considerations.

Professor Shaw is a nationally recognized business and tax lawyer. He specializes in business and tax planning, estate planning, and tax controversy representation in the firm of Higgs, Fletcher & Mack LLP, in San Diego, Calif. Shaw serves as an expert witness in corporation, partnership, securities and tax litigation matters. He is a past Chair of the ABA Section of Taxation, Distinguished Adjunct Professor in Advanced Business Planning and Advanced Corporate Tax Planning at USD. He also lectures nationally on business and tax subjects, and has chaired numerous programs at national institutes, such as the American Bar Association, ALI-ABA, NYU, USC and National PBS.
