Career Services Welcomes Two New Assistant Directors

USD School of Law’s Office of Career Services has added two members to its talented team of attorneys—Assistant Director of Employer Outreach & Communication Scott Morris and Assistant Director Julie Caron Remer.

Scott is responsible for assisting law firms, solo practitioners and businesses with their legal recruitment and employment needs. His JD is from the University of Chicago and his bachelor’s degree is from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After law school, he worked at Latham & Watkins, LLP, in San Diego for nearly three years where he handled matters in diverse practice areas ranging from project finance to complex litigation.

Scott also draws on his experience as a professional recruiter gained while working for the legal search firm Lateral Link as director of the San Diego and broader southwest markets. While at Lateral Link, Scott was charged with establishing and maintaining relationships with new employers in need of attorney placement services on a national level.

Scott's experiences and connections as both a practicing attorney in San Diego and legal recruiter give him valuable insight and access to the legal community both in San Diego and national markets.

Julie provides counseling and job search assistance to alumni and current law students. She has a JD from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, where she graduated summa cum laude. Julie began her career as a civil litigator in Los Angeles at the boutique real estate firm of Cox Castle & Nicholson LLP. She later moved to San Diego, working first at Procopio Cory Hargreaves & Savitch LLP and later at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.

Julie is a member of both the San Diego County Bar Association and the North County Bar Association. Her unique experiences in a variety of law firm settings allow her to offer alumni and students a fresh perspective on their job searches.
