| Message | San Diego (October 4, 2011) — Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that Steve Altman, ’86, will become vice chairman, and Derek Aberle, ‘96, has been promoted to executive vice president and group president. The changes will be effective November 12, 2011. In his new role, Altman will continue as a member of Qualcomm's executive committee and provide direction and guidance on key initiatives across all areas of the business, as well as on overall vision and strategy. In addition to continuing to serve as president of the Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL) division, Aberle will oversee Qualcomm's core services businesses, as well as the standards and global marketing activities.
