The documentary "Everything Comes From the Streets" has been selected to premier at the San Francisco Latino Film Festival on September 15th in San Francisco. The film features the lives and voices of the pioneers of the lowrider movement in the borderlands of San Diego and Tijuana that brought forth a unique Chicana and Chicano lowrider aesthetic and expression.
The film was directed by Ethnic Studies Department Chair and Professor Alberto Pulido and co-produced with Kelly Whalen, Rigo Reyes and Jessica Cordova. The film was funded by Cal Humanities and the College of Arts and Sciences.
There is currently a Kickstarter campaign to help this film raise funds for final editing and copyright fees. If you are interested in supporting this effort: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/178143439/everything-comes-from-the-streets-finishing-funds
