The University of San Diego's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been selected to receive a Green Chemistry Award for its outreach activities conducted during the 2011-12 academic year.
Out of 362 chapter reports submitted, the ACS Green Chemistry Institute® recognized 56 chapters for the academic year 2011-12, who successfully engaged in three or more green chemistry activities. In addition to recognition in Chemical & Engineering News and the student member magazine inChemistry, the winning Green Chemistry chapters received special recognition in ACS Green Chemistry Institute’s e-newsletter, The Nexus. The Green Chemistry award winning chapters will also be honored at the 245th ACS National Meeting in New Orleans, LA on Sunday, April 7, 2013.
