The Top Ten Word Usage Mistakes: (1) then/than; (2) principle/principal; (3) further/farther; (4) affect/effect; (5) infer/imply; (6) eminent/imminent; (7) its/it’s; (8) council/counsel; (9) that/which; and (10) incorrectly placing an adverb before the word “unique” (e.g., saying something is “very unique”).
This workshop will teach you how to avoid making the top ten word usage mistakes. The workshop will be approximately 30 minutes long and will include a brief lecture, practical exercises tied to the lecture content, and feedback on those exercises. Lunch will not be provided, but you are welcome to bring your lunch to the workshop.
