Job Title:
Circulation Department Student Assistant

Supervisor:
Ruth Hastings, Inna Muradyan, and Kim Wilder

Job Duties:

  • Provide Public Services to patrons (greeting and assisting patrons)
  • Maintain reserve materials
  • Reshelve books and stack maintenance
  • Service photocopiers
  • Monitor library access/egress
  • Provide basic information and referral for library patrons
  • Check out circulating materials; barcode items, as necessary
  • Check out/in reserve items
  • File CCH and other looseleaf services
  • Answers multi-line telephone/transfer calls/take messages
  • Other duties as assigned (i.e., shelf reading, shifting, inventory, searching, photocopying)
  • Input patron records
  • Assist disabled students with accommodations as needed
  • Assist with LRCPlus Faculty Delivery Service (copying and document delivery)
  • Monitor the lab; provide basic information and referral service
  • Open and close the lab
  • Retrieve supplies for lab use
  • Maintain printer paper supply level
  • Maintain orderly appearance of the Lab
  • Sort and deliver Lexis and Westlaw printouts to faculty and students

Training:
Training in all circulation procedures and all areas covered by the circulation manual, including Library of Congress classification system and proper filing techniques. Training in use of automated system and online catalog. Training in photocopier maintenance.

Hours

10 - 20 per week, scheduled between 7 a.m. - Midnight, Daily
