Areas of Expertise

Professor Lasezkay lectures in the areas of strategic business issues in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Professional Experience

Lasezkay is the president of Horizon Pharma Group, a consultancy practice that advises life sciences companies on strategic partnering and business development. Formerly, he was assistant general counsel and then corporate vice president of corporate development and member of the executive committee of Allergan, Inc. in Irvine, Calif. With more than 20 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, Lasezkay has served as a business advisor and a director of a number of U.S. and European start-up and development stage pharmaceutical companies, both public and private. He was previously an adjunct faculty member teaching pharmacy law at University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and an assistant professor of pharmacy at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Pharmacy. Lasezkay has more than 10 years of experience in clinical pharmacy consulting and clinical pharmacokinetic research.

Honors and Affiliations

Lasezkay is a member of the Board of Directors of Amakem Therapeutics, N.V., the California and District of Columbia Bar Associations, and the Licensing Executive Society. In 1997, his efforts involved in the Allergan/Ligand joint venture were instrumental to it being awarded the Recombinant Capital Breakthrough Biotechnology Alliance Award. Lasezkay was also the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for his efforts in evidence and criminal law in 1985.
