Areas of Expertise

Professor Taylor teaches a course on the Federal income taxation of real estate investment trusts, regulated investment companies, S corporations and other “passthrough” entities and, at New York University Law School, also teaches a course on Federal payroll taxes and the 3.8% tax on net investment income.

Professional Experience

Taylor is of counsel to Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP. He is an Adjunct Professor at New York University Law School and has also been a visiting professor at the University of Toronto Law School, and a visiting lecturer at Yale Law School and the University of Virginia Law School.

Honors and Affiliations

Taylor is former chairman of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is a member of the U.S. Council of International Fiscal Association, and the American College of Tax Counsel, and a former member of the Tax Advisory Group of the Federal Income Tax project of the American Law Institute.
