Professor Kalemkiarian teaches community property law.

Professional Experience

Kalemkiarian is a partner with the law firm of Ashworth, Blanchet, Christenson & Kalemkiarian, LLP in San Diego. She is a State Bar of California Certified Family Law Specialist. She has practiced child and family law for more than 20 years. Prior to founding Ashworth, Blanchet, she worked as a supervising attorney for USD’s Child Advocacy Clinic, as the director of Project Heartbeat at the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), and as a Skadden Fellow at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.

Honors and Affiliations

Kalemkiarian was named a “Super Lawyer”® from 2007 through 2010 and a San Diego Daily Transcript Top Attorney in Family Law in 2007. She received California Women Lawyers’ Fay Stender Award in 2000 and was named Legal Professional of the Year by the SDCBA in 1997. She served for nine years on the California Judicial Council Family and Juvenile Law Advisory Committee and is a regular contributor to LexisNexis’ California Family Law Monthly. She is the president and a board member of Kids’ Turn San Diego and a board member of the Environmental Health Coalition of San Diego. She is a member of the SDCBA Family Law Section and the Children at Risk Committee, the Certified Family Law Specialists of San Diego Executive Committee, Lawyers Club of San Diego, and the Armenian Bar Association.
