Monica M. Sullivan

Areas of Expertise

Professor Sullivan teaches in the area of civil litigation and is a faculty supervisor for the summer judicial internship program. 

Professional Experience

Sullivan clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Whelan of the United States District Court, Southern District of California from 2004 until 2006, after which she worked as a law clerk in the Pro Se Unit for the Southern District of California, specializing in habeas corpus cases. Sullivan currently clerks for the Honorable M. James Lorenz, in the Southern District of California, concentrating on criminal matters. Sullivan had a career in entertainment and sports management prior to law school, and practiced intellectual property law on a contract basis with Branfman & Associates from 2002 until 2004.

Honors and Affiliations

Sullivan worked as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judith McConnell in the San Diego Superior Court and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Thomas J. Whelan in the United States District Court, Southern District of California.
