Professor Sperow teaches advanced legal writing.
Sperow clerked for the Honorable Richard J. Cardamone of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and then joined Morrison & Foerster in their San Francisco office, where she specialized in complex commercial litigation. Sperow joined Ruiz & Sperow, LLP in 1995 as the firm’s managing partner and concentrated on complex litigation, employment and labor matters for both the private and public sectors. She opened the firm’s Southern California office in San Diego in 1998.
Honors and Affiliations
Sperow graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where she received a Milton Green scholarship, Order of the Coif, the Thurston Society and six American Jurisprudence awards. She also externed for then Chief Judge J. Clifford Wallace of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Sperow received the State Bar of California Board of Governors’ Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Contribution in 1989. She is a member of the San Diego Bar Association, the Lawyers’ Club of San Diego, the San Diego Chapter of the League of Women Voters, and the San Diego Chapter of the National Political Women’s Caucus.
