USD School of Law Alumni Kevin D. Bush ’85 (JD) and Mark Rackers ’07 (JD) Honored at the Justice for All Celebration

SAN DIEGO  (September 15, 2017) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumni Kevin D. Bush, ’85 (JD) and Mark Rackers, ’07 (JD) were honored at the Justice for All Celebration organized by the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program (SDVLP) on September 14. Bush received the Pro Bono Publico award and Rackers, who coordinates pro bono work for Sheppard Mullin, received the Outstanding Law Firm award on the firm’s behalf.  

Bush is the managing partner of Cozen O’Connor’s San Diego office. He is also vice chair of the west region of the firm's Subrogation & Recovery Department. He has handled a multitude of subrogation cases in California and Arizona involving fire losses, flood losses, products liability cases, construction defect cases, inverse condemnation cases, interstate transit cases and maritime cases. Bush practices in state and federal courts in Arizona and California.

Rackers is a senior associate in the business trial practice group in Sheppard Mullin’s San Diego office and is a member of the firm's Mortgage Banking and Food and Beverage Teams. He is an experienced trial attorney who represents clients in a variety of business disputes, with a special emphasis on lender liability, real estate, consumer class action defense, privacy and unfair competition. Rackers’ practice focuses on complex business litigation with an emphasis on the financial services industry.

San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP) has been committed to extend access to justice to the San Diego community since 1983. From helping domestic violence victims to fostering children with disabilities, SDVLP provides a host of pro bono legal services with the assistance of volunteer lawyers, law students, and other legal professionals. SDVLP organizes Justice for All Celebration to bring together those members of the legal community who are committed to increasing access to justice to honor award recipients and to recognize the service of its many volunteers.
