Professional Experience

Taylor is of counsel to Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP. He is an Adjunct Professor at New York University Law School and has also been a visiting professor at the University of Toronto Law School, and a visiting lecturer at Yale Law School and the University of Virginia Law School.

Professor Taylor teaches a course on the Federal income taxation of real estate investment trusts, regulated investment companies, S corporations and other "passthrough" entities and, at New York University Law School, also teaches a course on Federal payroll taxes and the 3.8% tax on net investment income.

Honors and Affiliations

Ferguson is a member of the American Law Institute, the American Bar Association and former chair of its Tax Section, and the New York State and City Bar Associations. He is vice chair of the Board of trustees of Lewis & Clark College, a trustee of New York University School of Law and serves on the council of Cornell University and the board of visitors of Cornell Law School. He serves as member of the Order of the Coif and Phi Delta Phi legal fraternities. Ferguson is listed in the Directory of American Scholars, the International Scholars Directory, and Who's Who in America.
