Professional Experience

Carter is a deputy public defender with the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office, where she has worked since 2005. She also serves as an assistant team leader and trial skills instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).

Professor Carter teaches trial advocacy.

Honors and Affiliations

In 2014, Carter was selected as NITA’s Next Generation Faculty Member. She was a 2012 San Diego Daily Transcript Young Attorney Nominee.
