Why My Gift Matters

At USD School of Law, private philanthropy provides a margin of excellence that ensures we can continue providing a world-class legal education for our students.  It plays a critical role in providing scholarships for deserving students, attracting and retaining top faculty who are leaders in their respective fields and in supporting our various programs and initiatives that help meet the needs of our local community.  Every day, the impact of our donors is felt by our students and by those who benefit from programs like our Children’s Advocacy Institute, Energy Policy Initiatives Center and our Legal Clinics.

Over the years we have consistently been able to strengthen our law school and build our programs. We are able to do so because we are fortunate to have alumni and friends who understand the value that USD School of Law has brought to their lives and the impact we make for our students, alumni and community.  This support has provided us with the resources to consistently excel and also instills us with the confidence to know that our closest friends are supportive of our mission.

Why does your gift matter? Because every gift – large or small – helps to support another student, fund an important program and secure our place as our region’s premier law school.  In this way, every donor becomes an active partner in our efforts and plays a key role in shaping lawyers and leaders.
