Climate Action Plan Monitoring

Summary

In December 2015, the City of San Diego adopted a Climate Action Plan. EPIC provided technical support during the CAP development process and for this project will support the City of San Diego to develop a long-term monitoring plan and regularly update greenhouse gas inventories, develop Climate Action Plan (CAP) progress reports, and publish information and data related to the City’s CAP. In addition, EPIC will conduct cost benefit analysis on CAP measures and related policies

Climate Action Plan Technical Support

City of San Diego Unified School District

Summary

EPIC will support development of the Climate Action Plan for the San Diego Unified School District, the second largest school district in California with more than 130,000 students. EPIC will provide technical analysis including develop baseline year 2015 inventory data based on the Local Government Operations Protocol, forecast business-as-usual forecast and calculate the GHG reduction for the selected mitigation measures.

Greenhouse gas inventory and estimates of greenhouse gas reductions from climate plan policies.

Climate Action Plan Technical Support

University of San Diego Office of Sustainability

Summary

EPIC worked with the University of San Diego (USD) Office of Sustainability to develop a Climate Action Plan. EPIC worked with various departments on campus to collect data, completed fiscal year 2010 GHG emission inventory for all three scopes, performed mitigation scenario analysis on GHG reduction measures and strategies. The CAP document will be released in fall 2016.

San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Cluster

Summary

The San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Cluster identifies innovative entrepreneurs that are developing solutions to the region’s priority energy needs and provides them with a customized plan that includes access to advisory support, technology, and commercialization services. The University of San Diego (led by EPIC and supported by the School of Engineering) is part of the regional team led by Cleantech San Diego. EPIC will produce resources and advise candidate companies on the policy, regulation, and legal aspects of the energy marketplace.
