Details

Practicing attorney and legal counsel to the Independent Voter Project, Chad Peace, will discuss contemporary election law and its connection to today's polarized political atmosphere. The Independent Voter Project authored California's nonpartisan, top-two primary system and is currently engaged in a nationwide, state-by-state legal strategy to defend individual voting rights regardless of party affiliation or non-affiliation. One complaint was filed in the State of New Jersey that challenges the constitutionality of closed primary elections and will be implemented in other states as well.
