San Diego (May 20, 2013) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of Shelton Austin, '11 (JD), to the firm's San Diego office. Austin joins the firm as an associate on the electronics and software team in the internationally recognized intellectual property department.
Austin's practice focuses on intellectual property, patent preparation and prosecuting in various fields including, wireless communications, computer, software, electronics, and medical devices. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an associate at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear in San Diego.
Austin earned his JD, cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was a member of the San Diego International Law Journal and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Before attending law school, Austin worked as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He earned his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio State University.
