JD Part-Time Program

Key Program Features

  • Nationally ranked, four-year part-time JD Program (fully ABA-accredited)
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time and take classes in the evenings
  • Courses offered Monday – Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  • Flexibility to take both day and evening courses after your first year of study
  • Option to take summer courses to expedite the completion of the degree

Program Timeline

  • Enrollment is in the fall semester only, with classes typically beginning in the third week of August.
  • The application deadline for the fall 2013 semester is June 1, 2013.
  • USD School of Law accepts June 2013 LSAT scores. Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2013.
  • Day and evening courses are available.

Application and Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent prior to matriculation and possess a valid LSAT score.
  • Applicants must submit an electronic application via the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and subscribe to LSAC's CAS Service. The required components of our application include our standard application, a two to three page personal statement and a current resume. Applicants have the option to submit up to two letters of recommendation.

Financial Aid and Merit Scholarships

  • The University of San Diego School of Law awards merit scholarships to admitted, part-time JD students based on the merits of the applicant's scholastic and professional experience as demonstrated by the contents of the applicant's admissions file.
  • No additional application is necessary to be considered for scholarship. Your application for admission is your merit based scholarship application.
  • Students are considered for additional scholarships after their first year based on law school performance. Continuing students can also apply to for our alumni endowed scholarships.
