Welcome to the San Diego Law Review home page!
Published four times a year, the San Diego Law Review is the premier journal of legal scholarship published at the University of San Diego School of Law. The Review was founded in 1964, and we are currently publishing our 52nd volume.
The San Diego Law Review is an entirely student-run organization. We publish articles submitted by professors, judges and practitioners. All articles are selected, edited and published by the Review's Editorial Board. Additionally, almost every issue contains at least one comment or casenote authored by a University of San Diego law school student, as selected by the Editorial Board.
Membership in the San Diego Law Review is a highly prestigious achievement. Rising first-year law students are eligible to compete for membership through a yearly write-on competition held at the end of the first year. Transfer students beginning their second year at the University of San Diego School of Law are also eligible for membership.
The Editorial Board of the San Diego Law Review is selected from within membership ranks by the outgoing board, based on the successful and timely completion of members' writing and citation assignments, and individual members' qualifications for available positions. The Editorial Board is supported by full-time staff from the law school's office of communications.
