Letter from the Editor-in-Chief

Welcome to the San Diego Law Review home page!

Published four times a year electronically, the San Diego Law Review is the premier journal of legal scholarship published at the University of San Diego School of Law. The Law Review was founded in 1964, and we are currently preparing for publication of our 61st volume.

The San Diego Law Review is an entirely student-run organization. We publish articles submitted by professors, judges and practitioners. All articles are selected, edited and published by the Law Review's Editorial Board. Additionally, almost every issue contains at least one comment or casenote authored by a University of San Diego law school student, as selected by the Editorial Board.

Membership in the San Diego Law Review is a highly prestigious achievement. Students are eligible for Associate Membership at the conclusion of their first year of law school through an annual Write-On Competition. Transfer students beginning their second year at the University of San Diego School of Law are also eligible for membership through a transfer Write-On Competition.

The Law Review Editorial Board is selected from within membership ranks by the outgoing board, based on the successful and timely completion of members' writing and citation assignments, and individual members' qualifications for available positions. The Editorial Board is supported by a full-time administrator from the Law school’s Office of Law Student Affairs.
