Why International Law?

Globalization highlights the importance of both public international law—the law of nations derived from customary law and international agreements. It also focuses on private international law—the resolution of conflicts between the laws of different countries, often in the business context. This program offers students an opportunity to prepare for both legal regimes or to focus on just one.

International Human Rights Law Society International Law Society San Diego International Law Journal		Study Law Abroad In cooperation with foreign universities, the law school's Institute on International and Comparative law conducts law study programs that introduce American law students to foreign law and legal institutions. Led by Professor Bert Lazerow, the programs are designed to sensitize students to the cultural differences that influence effective international dealings.
