Philip J. Giacinti Jr.
Adjunct Professor of Law
Professor Giacinti's practice encompasses commercial litigation, real estate litigation and bankruptcy law with an emphasis on creditor's rights and business reorganizations. He received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. After serving four years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps he attended Loyola University of Chicago where he obtained his J.D. in 1975. He has been licensed to practice law in the federal and state courts of California since 1975. Additionally, he has been licensed to practice law in the federal and state courts of Colorado since 1994 and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. Giacinti is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is a former bankruptcy trustee and is adjunct professor of law at the University of San Diego School of Law. In 1993 and again in 2006, he received the San Diego County Bar Association award for community service for his involvement at Children's Convalescent Hospital of San Diego. In November 1996, San Diego Magazine listed Giacinti as one of the top lawyers as chosen by other attorneys in the field of bankruptcy.
