Joe Cordileone

Adjunct Professor of Law

Joe Cordileone has been a trial lawyer for thirty years and has practiced law in both California and Montana. He graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State University in 1972 where he was the Broadcast Communication Arts Department Student of the Year. He graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1976. At USD, he was awarded the St. Thomas More Scholarship for merit and was named the outstanding student in Constitutional Law. He spent much of his career in private practice representing civil litigants. He currently serves as a senior trial deputy with the San Diego City Attorney’s Office. He also is a frequent guest lecturer in the USD Business Department Master’s Program and has conducted several seminars on trial techniques both in California and Montana. Cordileone is currently on the Board of Directors for the Special Friends Foundation. In the past, he served on the Yellowstone County Head Start Program Board of Directors and was an accredited consultant who conducted seminars and trained officers of Head Start programs in Montana, Utah and Colorado; was a member of the USD Paralegal Program Board of Directors; and was a member of the San Diego Women’s Legal Services Board of Directors.
