Chris Wold

Visiting Professor of Law

Areas of Expertise

Professor Wold teaches international environmental law.

Professional Experience

Wold directs the International Environmental Law Project at Lewis & Clark Law School. Prior to teaching, he was a staff attorney with the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), where he focused on international wildlife law issues and international financial institutions. He has traveled to Australia, Japan, Kenya, and Zimbabwe to participate in Meetings of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and the International Whaling Commission (IWC).

Honors and Affiliations

Wold won the Bernard F. O’Rourke Award in 1990 for outstanding student writing on a natural resources topic. He served as former counsel to the Center for International Environmental Law. He is also a member of the National Advisory Committee to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Wold's publications include Climate Change and the Law (with Hunter & Powers) (LexisNexis, 2009); and Trade and the Environment: Cases and Materials (with Gaines & Block) (Carolina Academic Press, 2005).
