Robert F. Muth

Areas of Expertise

Professor Muth teaches in the area of veteran legal affairs and is a supervising attorney for the Veteran's Clinic.

Professional Experience

Muth served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps working primarily as a criminal defense attorney, handling a wide range of high profile matters including cases involving allegations of war crimes and mishandling of classified information as well as general criminal matters. Muth also deployed for thirteen months to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Muth joined the litigation boutique firm of Godes & Preis, LLP in Irvine, Calif. Muth's civil litigation practice focused on business litigation, contractual disputes and employment litigation.

Honors and Affiliations

Muth was named the Defense Counsel of the Year, Navy-Marine Corps Trial Judiciary, Western Judicial Circuit in 2008-09. Muth is admitted to the bar in both California and Illinois. Muth is the supervising attorney for USD's Veterans Legal Clinic.
