Areas of Expertise
Professor Cantrell teaches law and literature, a course organized around historical and institutional questions of human and political emancipation. He writes about literary, legal, and political history, particularly in the years between the American Revolution and the Great War, focusing especially upon the events of Reconstruction and its aftermath.
