Richard C. Pugh

Areas of Expertise
Professor Pugh teaches and writes in the areas of corporate tax, international tax, international law, international criminal law and human rights.
Professional Experience
Pugh was a Rhodes Scholar, a professor of law at Columbia University, a deputy assistant attorney general of the United States (tax division), and a senior partner in the New York office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He joined the USD School of Law faculty in 1989.
Honors and Affiliations
Pugh serves on the editorial advisory boards of the American Oxonian and the International Tax Journal. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and a member of the American Law Institute. He was named a USD university professor in 1998.
