Areas of Expertise
Professor Caron teaches and writes in the areas of tax law.
Professional Experience
Caron clerked for the Honorable William J. Holloway, Jr., Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and then practiced tax law at Sullivan & Worcester in Boston for five years. He is the Charles Hartsock Professor of Law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is the publisher and editor of the popular TaxProf blog. Caron has been a visiting professor at the University of Florida College of Law, Florida State University College of Law, University of San Diego School of Law, and New York University/IRS Office of Chief Counsel Continuing Professional Education Program.
Honors and Affiliations
Caron graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and cum laude from Cornell Law School. He received the Faculty Achievement Award from the University of Cincinnati in 1997; the Harold C. Schott Publication Prize in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006; the Harold C. Schott Scholarship Award in 2005; and the Goldman Prize for Teaching Excellence in 2003.
