Beginning in 2014, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will usher in an unprecedented expansion of the powers allocated to the Internal Revenue Service. Once tasked solely with the collection of revenue, the IRS will soon be responsible for enforcing the ACA’s mandates, taxes, penalties, and reporting requirements. Tax attorney Tyson Cross will provide an overview of the IRS’s new role under the ACA, as well as discuss the impact this new role will have on taxpayers and tax practioners alike. Light refreshments will be provided! The University of San Diego School of Law is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and certifies that this activity is approved for one hour of general credit.
